GETF provides matching grants and on-demand technical assistance to projects that invest in alternative energy sources and fuel-efficient solutions tailored to urban and peri-urban households. These initiatives are designed to be affordable, accessible, and acceptable, with a strong emphasis on creating positive social and environmental impacts.

Lead applicants and their collaborators must propose projects that embrace the Triple-A Paradigm: Affordability, Accessibility, and Acceptability, while tackling challenges related to marketing, distribution, and adoption. By addressing these key areas, the funded projects aim to improve energy access and support long-term benefits for communities in Malawi.
