Remarks by the UN Deputy Resident Representative at The Green Economic Transition Facility (GETF) Launch at BICC on 26th April, 2023
The launch of the Green Economic Transition Facility, (GETF) is yet another step to demonstrate UNDP’s focus on the Private Sector as a pivot for Malawi’s green business growth, in the wake of alarming environmental degradation statistics.
In his remarks to business captains who attended the launch of the GETF on Wednesday April 26, 2023, in Lilongwe, UNDP Resident Representative Shigeki Komatsubara, said UNDP is looking at innovatively deepening the support for private sector led, inclusive market development and green business models “as a mean to contribute to poverty reduction through employment creation, income generation and overall economic development.”
